CJ Country Events Wedding / W + N

There’s something timeless about a wedding that begins in a historic church and ends beneath the open sky. This romantic summer wedding in Guelph, Ontario, felt like the perfect blend of tradition and laid-back countryside charm—from a sacred ceremony in a beautiful Catholic church to a golden-hour dinner at CJ Country Events.

W + N’s day began in the heart of Guelph, where the couple exchanged vows in an intimate Catholic church surrounded by soft light filtering through stained glass. The ceremony was deeply meaningful—full of quiet reverence and personal touches that spoke to their faith and the depth of their connection. Watching them walk back down the aisle as newlyweds, hands clasped tightly, was a moment that stuck with me long after the last guest had gone home.

After the ceremony, we headed just outside the city to CJ Country Events, where the celebration shifted into something beautifully relaxed and effortlessly joyful. Nestled in the rolling countryside, the venue’s rustic open-air building created the perfect backdrop for a dinner under the rafters and stars.

With wooden beams, twinkling lights, and long farmhouse tables, the space struck that ideal balance between cozy and elegant. Guests sipped drinks in the warm breeze, laughter echoing through the fields as the sun dipped low behind the horizon.

Golden hour didn’t disappoint. I stole a few quiet moments with W+N, exploring roadside and tree-lined paths around the property. The images from that part of the day are some of my favourites—intimate, sun-soaked, and full of that just-married glow.

As night fell, the celebration came alive with heartfelt speeches, slow dances, and the kind of joy that feels both electric and grounded. There’s a certain magic in days like this—rooted in love, lifted by community, and sealed with sunlight and stars.

If you’re dreaming of a wedding day that honours tradition while embracing the beauty of the outdoors, this one is a love story worth bookmarking.
